In a story of perseverance, inspiration, and the unbreakable bond between mother and daughter, Joetta set a new\u00a0<strong>American Masters record in the 200-meter dash (60-64 age category)<\/strong>\u00a0at the USATF Masters Indoor Championships, clocking an incredible\u00a0<strong>28.62 seconds<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>But this wasn\u2019t just another victory for the legendary track star. It was\u00a0<strong>the first time her daughter, world champion sprinter Talitha Diggs, ever saw her mother compete<\/strong>. A moment decades in the making, this was a\u00a0<strong>true mother-daughter victory story<\/strong>\u2014one that proves it\u2019s never too late to go after your dreams.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of January, Joetta made a spontaneous yet bold decision:\u00a0<strong>she would return to the track<\/strong>. After 25 years away from competition, she registered for the Indoor Masters Championships, committed to training, and set out to show her daughter\u2014and the world\u2014that age is just a number when it comes to chasing your dreams.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy daughter, Talitha, wanted to see me compete and witness firsthand what I had done all those years ago. She ran 28.62 in the 200m at 62 years old, and this was her first race in 25 years. PLUS, this was my first time watching her compete, and it was incredible.
