The PA 529 Guaranteed Savings Plan can now be accessed via the READYSAVE 529 app<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Harrisburg, PA\u00a0<\/strong>\u2014 Pennsylvania Treasurer Stacy Garrity today announced that families\u00a0 saving with the\u00a0PA 529 College and Career Savings Program\u2019s Guaranteed Savings Plan (GSP)<\/a>\u00a0can now access their account anytime and anywhere with the READYSAVE 529 mobile app.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m thrilled this smartphone app is now available to help families save for education with our great PA 529 GSP,\u201d Treasurer Garrity said. \u201cTreasury is always looking for ways to make the PA 529 program work better for the families that depend on it to save and pay for their child\u2019s future education. I encourage anyone who is thinking about starting to save with PA 529 to start now, because it\u2019s easier than ever to access your account and save with READYSAVE 529.\u201d<\/p>\n

With READYSAVE 529, users can securely manage their accounts, check balances and transaction history, set up one-time or recurring contributions, and access the Ugift feature to easily invite family and friends to contribute to a child\u2019s savings. READYSAVE 529 is available to download from\u00a0Apple<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0Google Play<\/a>\u00a0app stores.<\/p>\n

READYSAVE 529 is designed by Ascensus, PA 529\u2019s program management partner. The app does not replace any paper or email confirmations, quarterly statements or regular communications from PA 529.<\/p>\n

Families saving with the\u00a0PA 529 Investment Plan (IP)<\/a>\u00a0have had access to the READYSAVE 529 app since 2021. Since that time, more than 21,500 families have used the app. More than $52 million was contributed to PA 529 IP accounts via READYSAVE PA in 2024 alone.<\/p>\n

PA 529 College and Career Savings Program<\/a>\u00a0accounts are designed to help Pennsylvania families steadily and strategically save in a tax-advantaged way for a wide variety of qualifying technical, collegiate, apprenticeship and certain K-12 educational expenses. Money saved in a PA 529 account does not impact eligibility for Pennsylvania state financial aid.<\/p>\n

There are two PA 529 plans to choose from, the PA 529 GSP and the PA 529 IP. The PA 529 GSP lets families pay for tomorrow\u2019s tuition at today\u2019s prices. PA 529 GSP\u00a0plan fees are waived<\/a>\u00a0through June 30, 2025. The Morningstar Gold-Rated PA 529 IP offers a variety of investment options with returns based on financial market performance.<\/p>\n

All Pennsylvania children born in 2019 and after have a free $100 Keystone Scholars account to jumpstart their education savings.
