Robert Freeman.<\/p>\n<p>The funds will be used for the business improvement district plan to recruit, retain and encourage businesses to expand in the Easton area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Main Street program has done amazing things for Easton and communities throughout Pennsylvania. This funding will be critical to ensuring that Easton continues to thrive by bringing businesses and keeping those we already have for residents and visitors to enjoy,\u201d said Freeman, D-Northampton.<\/p>\n<p>The Easton funding was part of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pa.gov\/governor\/newsroom\/2025-press-releases\/governor-josh-shapiro-announces-81-new-main-street-matters-inves.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">81 investments totaling $17 million in Main Street Matters<\/a>&nbsp;program funding that was announced today by the administration of Gov. Josh Shapiro.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a former Montgomery County commissioner, Gov. Shapiro is keenly aware of the importance that state programs can have on local communities.
