St. Luke\u2019s is the only health network in the greater Lehigh Valley region to ever earn this distinction.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSt. Luke\u2019s has earned the 100 Top Hospitals designation for 11 years in a row and 13 years overall \u2013 a remarkable run that speaks to the fact that our Network is among the very best nationwide,\u201d St. Luke\u2019s Chief Quality Officer Donna Sabol said. \u201cSuch consistently outstanding results are a credit to our physicians,\u00a0<a id=\"post-141565-m_-1211401091408814658__Int_D9dMlWJx\"><\/a>nurses\u00a0and our entire St. Luke\u2019s team and their unwavering focus on quality at every level of our organization.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 100 Top Hospitals ranking, conducted annually since 1993, is the most prestigious honor for hospitals in the United States. It is based entirely on objective data as top performers are not subjected to the exorbitant, pay-for-play promotional fees associated with recognitions from other organizations.<\/p>\n<p>PINC AI, the technology and services platform of healthcare consultancy Premier, Inc., has identified the top hospitals from a rigorous evaluation of\u00a0<a id=\"post-141565-m_-1211401091408814658__Int_Dbjmteyj\"><\/a>nearly 2,600\u00a0acute care, non-federal hospitals in the U.S., recognizing excellence in patient outcomes and quality as well as operational efficiency, financial\u00a0<a id=\"post-141565-m_-1211401091408814658__Int_fhZwmQwa\"><\/a>health\u00a0and community impact.<\/p>\n<p>In Pennsylvania, only five hospitals earned a place on the 100 Top Hospitals list. Three of the five are St. Luke\u2019s campuses:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>St. Luke\u2019s Anderson Campus was recognized for the seventh time among the 20 Best Teaching Hospitals.<\/li>\n<li>St. Luke\u2019s Upper Bucks Campus was named for the first time in the Small Community Hospital category.<\/li>\n<li>St. Luke\u2019s Warren Campus was named to the list for the first time in the Small Community Hospital category. The only other New Jersey hospital to make the list was in the Large Community Hospitals category.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis year\u2019s 100 Top Hospitals list recognizes institutions that consistently score high on patient experience, operational efficiencies, and financial health,\u201d\u00a0<em>Fortune<\/em>\u00a0magazine stated. \u201cThe hospitals that topped the list exceed in all key measures\u2014particularly when it comes to mortality rates.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf this year\u2019s top 100 hospitals were serving all Medicare patients, the data found that over 331,000 additional lives would be saved in a hospital setting, over 611,000 patients would be complication-free, and 13,000 fewer patients would be discharged and readmitted within 30 days.
