This annual celebration honors seniors whose leadership, service, and dedication have significantly enriched the Northampton County community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese honorees exemplify what it means to give selflessly,\u201d said County Executive Lamont G. McClure. \u201cTheir contributions span decades and touch every corner of the county\u2014from mentoring young people and serving the underserved, to preserving local traditions and supporting our most vulnerable neighbors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s Outstanding Senior Award Honorees are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Barbara Abel<\/strong>\u00a0(Nazareth) \u2013\u00a0<em>Intergenerational Outstanding Senior Award<\/em>\u00a0recipient, for sharing her musical talents with Morningstar Living residents and inspiring youth through music.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Marvin Boyer<\/strong>\u00a0(Palmer Township) \u2013 For his enduring leadership in civil rights, criminal justice reform, and community advocacy.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mary Detrick<\/strong>\u00a0(Pen Argyl) \u2013 For her exceptional volunteer work addressing food insecurity, elder support, and shelter needs.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Curt Ehly<\/strong>\u00a0(Easton) \u2013 For his tireless contributions to community revitalization, especially as emcee of the Easton Farmers Market.<\/li>\n<li><strong>James &amp; Eileen Glancy<\/strong>\u00a0(Upper Nazareth Township) \u2013 For their compassionate and consistent service with Meals on Wheels and personal outreach to those in need.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Happy Hookers, Knit Wits, and Sew \u2018n\u2019 Sews Group<\/strong>\u00a0(Forks Township) \u2013\u00a0<em>Outstanding Community Group<\/em>\u00a0recipient, for crafting essential items that support local seniors, children with special needs, the homeless, and animal shelters.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Charles Mallon<\/strong>\u00a0(Nazareth Borough) \u2013 For his 21 years of service at the Nazareth Senior Center and dedication to Meals on Wheels and Habitat for Humanity.<\/li>\n<li><strong>James Marsh<\/strong>\u00a0(Palmer Township) \u2013 For decades of leadership at Bethel Memorial Baptist Church and involvement with the VA and community nonprofits.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Gerald E. Seyfried<\/strong>\u00a0(Lower Nazareth) \u2013 For a lifetime of public service, from County Executive to founder of the Parks 2000 initiative.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Maryann Umble<\/strong>\u00a0(Bethlehem) \u2013 For her steadfast support of faith-based outreach, emergency shelter services, and community coordination.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Charles Wacik<\/strong>\u00a0(Easton) \u2013 For his extensive record of volunteerism in local government, youth sports, church activities, and public safety.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Linda Weiss<\/strong>\u00a0(Bethlehem) \u2013 For her lifelong dedication to children\u2019s education and her ongoing volunteer work with Cops \u2018n Kids, Meals on Wheels, and more.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The event celebrated the vital roles older adults play in building stronger, more compassionate communities.
