Coleman Announces New Lower Macungie Township Walking Path<\/strong><\/p>\n

HARRISBURG \u2013 The Hillside School walking path in Lower Macungie Township, made possible with a $193,000 state grant\u00a0Sen. Jarrett Coleman (R-16)<\/a>\u00a0helped to secure, has been completed.<\/p>\n

Hillside School serves elementary and middle school students who have been diagnosed with language-based learning differences and aims to maximize each one\u2019s potential. The school is a benchmark independent day school and has set the standard for educating children with these disabilities.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe path makes it safer for students and their families who walk to school and provides area residents with another opportunity for outdoor recreation,\u201d Coleman said. \u201cI\u2019m glad the state saw value in funding this local project, and I look forward to continue advocating for important initiatives in Lehigh and Bucks counties.\u201d<\/p>\n

The path, which runs along the front of the school, is also open to bicyclists.<\/p>\n

This walking path improves access and safety while reinforcing our shared commitment to supporting educational excellence and community well-being,\u201d said Rep. Gary Day (R-Lehigh). \u201cI\u2019m proud to stand behind this investment in our children and our neighborhoods.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cCompletion of the Hillside School pathway is a key connection point in the Lower Macungie Township sidewalk and pathway connectivity plan. The pathway allows for our neighborhoods to connect to the Hillside School, Spring Ridge Park and its trail network, and other neighborhoods in Lower Macungie. We appreciate Sen. Coleman and the state for all of their assistance provided to us,\u201d Bruce Bietel, township manager for Lower Macungie Township.<\/p>\n

The grant was approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, an independent agency of the Department of Community and Economic Development, through its Local Share Account Program. It was funded by local gaming revenue.<\/p>\n

It offers our neighbors another place to enjoy the beauty of the Lehigh Valley.
