Programming block to highlight topics of importance

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Apr. 19, 2016 — PBS39 prides itself on stimulating and disseminating the exchange of ideas for community enrichment. Beginning in May, PBS39 will further this important part of its mission by introducing its all-new Local Hour, Tuesdays at 7 p.m. beginning May 3.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

PBS39 Local Hour will showcase more of the people, places, and issues that matter to our community. Anchored by PBS39’s Emmy-nominated weekly news magazine program, FOCUS, the Local Hour will feature homegrown programs, including PBS39’s four upcoming documentaries: Wyomissing: An American Dream; The Salvation Army Legacy; Second to None: The Liberty High School Grenadier Band; and Close to Home, an original production about cancer survivorship.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“Our viewers appreciate content that engages them with their community,” said Teri Haddad, EdD, PBS39 VP of Education & Production. “PBS39 Local Hour will bring them more of the stories that touch their lives, every Tuesday night.”<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Other programs scheduled for rotation during the Local Hour include original PBS39 productions, such as Scholastic Scrimmage, Lafayette Lens, Behind the Guitar, and Steel Sessions; as well as broader topical programming, including Our Town, Greenlife Pennsylvania, and Keystone Crossroads.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
