City of Allentown and Allentown School District Announce Free Kids Summer Meals & Activities<\/strong><\/p>\n

June 4, 2025 \u2013 As the school year comes to a close on June 11, the City of Allentown and the Allentown School District (ASD), in partnership with several local organizations, are stepping up to ensure that no child goes hungry this summer. A wide range of free meal programs and youth activities will be available to children and teens throughout the city.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the City of Allentown offers a Summer Playground Program for children ages 7 to 15, from June 16 through August 7, at 18 playground sites throughout the city. A free lunch is served at each location. Participation in the program is completely free, and parents are encouraged to register their children online at https:\/\/bit.ly\/allentownplaygroundprograms<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And lastly, the City will host the final Firehouse Friday of the spring season on Friday, June 6 at the Hibernia Fire Station, where children 18 and under can receive a free meal from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM every Friday during the school year. The program, made possible through a partnership with Cohesion Network, Greater Valley YMCA, and IAFF Local 302, will return this fall on Friday, September 12, once the new school year begins.<\/p>\n

The Allentown School District will offer comprehensive Summer Programming to provide essential academic support and exciting enrichment opportunities for students to ensure they feel confident as they prepare for the start of the 2025-2026 School Year. Families should contact their child\u2019s school or teacher to enroll.<\/p>\n
