June 12, 2025 \u2013 This summer, Mallory Zondag, acclaimed fiber artist and art educator, is in the spotlight as the official 2025 Musikfest poster artist, making a historic first as the festival\u2019s first representative of fiber arts. Her work will be featured in two major exhibitions and a collaborative project with local students, underscoring a season rich with texture, creativity and community engagement during the nation\u2019s largest non-gated music festival.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Art of Musikfest: Musikfest Poster Artist Retrospective Exhibition (2019 \u2013 2025) | May \u2013 August 31 | Payne Gallery at Moravian University<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Panel Discussion featuring all of the Musikfest poster artists will take place on July 31 at 6 p.m. \u2013 8 p.m. in the Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>ArtsQuest is partnering with Moravian University to present an exhibition of artwork featuring past Musikfest Poster Artists from 2019 \u2013 2025. Participating exhibition artists include Jessica Bastidas (2019), Doug Boehm (2020), Mandy Martin (2021), Bart Cooper (2022), Maltas Con Leche (2023) and Mallory Zondag (2025).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mallory Zondag: What Lies Between Us\u00a0| May 23 \u2013 September 14 | ArtsQuest Center<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A striking solo exhibition by fiber artist and educator Mallory Zondag,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/us.cisionone.cision.com\/c\/eJwsy0HO2yAQQOHTwA4LBmLGCxb_xteIwDOOUbHdAImVnr5K1e339CgALk6PkoPxbvJ2REC5hQVXZ_xkKY6eFvarTuuoVyBg9nHVMocRXSQaySDjdDeQpqjNDQ1NwumWiX_lp9pjLlybQudwce52I4X9SPvwDbKErfffTdgfAbOA-bquIdbeni9ufTjrQ8DMbz66gNl4bbyAeY-lnPWj_pwHxYe6tthVydxU4n4xH-rVBMxyZ8pRVS4cG6tM4R_c_4OwP0ZbB1rWkI_1FE73jd-xFP4UpgfXYTl32Xpl3r-3AQBEkxTZySq3RlTRACjv0pTSiBzRyneAvwEAAP__up9pPw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>What Lies Between Us<\/em>\u00a0<\/a>features immersive, tactile sculptures created between 2020 and 2025. The work investigates invisible threads of connection\u2014between people, places and the living world. Using methods like felting, weaving and fiber sculpting, Zondag\u2019s organic forms invite viewers to consider their place within an interconnected global ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p>Zondag\u2019s art has been shown at venues including the Whitney Museum, El Museo del Barrio and the International Biennial of Textile Art in Ukraine. She is also known for her community outreach through collaborative textile projects and arts education.<\/p>\n<p><strong>BASD Middle School PCA Residency: Fiber Art Collaboration<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One of Mallory\u2019s most recent projects includes a visiting artist residency with Bethlehem Area School District (BASD) middle schools. She\u2019s now putting the final touches on the students\u2019 collaborative artwork, which will be ready in time for Musikfest. The inclusion of this project as part of her broader work for the festival deepens the connection between her professional art and her dedication to arts education.<\/p>\n<p>Though a date for the official unveiling of the collaborative artwork has yet to be announced, it\u2019s clear that the piece\u2014and the artist behind it\u2014will be front and center throughout the season.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Musikfest Community Art Project<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Zondag will lead fiber arts activities during Musikfest to create a community art project using similar techniques to those she used to create the Musikfest poster.
