Celtic Cultural Alliance Announces Celtic Classic Contests<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

From baking to poetry, there is something for everyone to showcase their Celtic talents<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Bethlehem, PA \u2013 June 13, 2025 <\/strong>– The Celtic Cultural Alliance (CCA) is excited to announce annual contests at the Celtic Classic that everyone can be a part of and celebrate their Celtic heritage.<\/p>\n

Scottish Scones Baking Contest <\/em><\/strong>\u2013 Sponsored by King Arthur Baking Company. Do you have a family recipe that has been handed down? Or do you have one of your own that you perfected? There is also a gluten free and children\u2019s category. Enter your creation to win! https:\/\/celticfest.org\/scones\/<\/a><\/p>\n

Celtic Poetry Contest <\/em><\/strong>– Open to writers of all ages. Poetry awards will be given to the entries that best reflect the culture of the seven Celtic nations in traditions, arts, history, or literature. Personal anecdotes of family, studies, or travelling experiences are also welcome. <\/em>https:\/\/celticfest.org\/poetry-2\/<\/a><\/p>\n

Haggis Bowl 2025 <\/em><\/strong>\u2013 Always a crowd favorite! Are you brave enough? 15 people will compete to see who can eat a pound of haggis the fastest. https:\/\/celticfest.org\/haggis\/<\/a><\/p>\n

Each year CCA looks forward to patrons entering these contests and showcasing their talents.<\/p>\n

The CCA is gearing up for the 38th<\/sup> presentation of the Celtic Classic Highland Games & Festival, September 26th<\/sup> \u2013 September 28th<\/sup>, and will continue making major announcements throughout the summer. About the Celtic Cultural Alliance<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Columbus Day weekend in 1988, the first Celtic Classic was presented by a small group of individuals. The goal of this dedicated group was to create an event that symbolized the Celtic spirit and history, and to provide the impetus for an organization that focused on promoting the Celtic culture. This group has now evolved into Celtic Cultural Alliance to better communicate the overall goals of the organization.<\/p>\n

The CCA has expanded with year-round programming to support the mission of promoting and preserving Celtic Culture through arts, music, literature, dance, and history programs. In keeping with the spirit of \u201cNext Generation\u201d, the CCA also offers scholarships to promising young students of the Celtic Arts. These yearly scholarships are offered to students of the arts, including Irish Step Dance, Highland Dance, Fiddle, and Bagpipes.<\/p>\n

The Celtic Classic has blossomed into one of the largest Highland Games and Celtic Festivals in North America. Annually, over 200,000 visitors come to Historic Bethlehem to join in this celebration of all things Celtic. The organization has expanded into year-round programs. Our educational programming has expanded to include community outreach events in area school districts, religious institutions, local theaters and colleges throughout the Lehigh Valley. A series of scholarships are awarded each year in varied areas of Celtic culture.<\/p>\n
