Project includes region’s first women’s health center<\/em><\/p>\n

Bethlehem, Pa. —<\/em><\/strong> Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN), part of Jefferson Health, cut the ribbon today for two new health centers at Tower Place \u2013 Health Center at Tower Place and Women\u2019s Health Center at Tower Place. These facilities are built on the former site of Bethlehem Steel\u2019s Martin Tower, breathing new life into the site that has been empty for several years and establishing the region’s first and only women’s health center.<\/p>\n

<\/a> Joseph Cacchione, MD, Chief Executive Officer, Jefferson, welcomed community partners and colleagues. Dr. Cacchione spoke about the importance of LVHN and Jefferson Health coming together and what it means for the community and for Tower Place.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe combination marked a new chapter in access, innovation, equity and opportunity for patients, colleagues, students and health plan members,\u201d Dr. Cacchione said. <\/a>\u201cTower Place is the latest example of Jefferson\u2019s commitment to the health of this community. We will continue to make investments in all the regions legacy LVHN serves to make our communities healthier.\u201d<\/p>\n

The centers are open to patients beginning July 15.<\/p>\n

Bob <\/a>Begliomini, President, Jefferson Health\u2013Lehigh Valley Region, reiterated how the centers mark the ongoing commitment of Jefferson Health to invest in access to care.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur teams have worked tirelessly to plan, design and build these two centers,\u201d Begliomini said. \u201cThey are an investment in health care in the region and will increase access to care in this community.\u201d<\/p>\n

Also in attendance was Amanda Flicker, MD<\/a>, Interim System Clinical Leader for Women\u2019s Health Service Line at Jefferson Health. Dr. Flicker commented on LVHN\u2019s longstanding commitment to women\u2019s health care.<\/p>\n

\u201cLVHN is proud to continue our more than 125-year history, which is rooted in empowering women,\u201d Dr. Flicker said. \u201cWe continue that tradition today with the opening of the region\u2019s first Women\u2019s Health Center. LVHN is doing what\u2019s right for women at every stage of life with personalized care, innovative treatments and unwavering support through comprehensive women\u2019s services.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dr. Flicker noted that 80 percent of the LVHN workforce is comprised of women, and it has pioneered specialized programs with women in mind \u2013 such as the WAVES program<\/a> for women experiencing postpartum depression, the Women’s Heart and Vascular Program<\/a> and the high-risk breast clinic.<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s Health Center at Tower Place<\/strong><\/p>\n

Women\u2019s Health Center features thoughtful amenities like a caf\u00e9 and on-site child care for patients with children while they are receiving care at the facility. In addition, LVHN collaborated with Pennsylvania Council of the Arts, ArtsQuest and colleagues to create two murals located in this space.<\/p>\n

The 40,000-square-foot facility will be dedicated to convenient care for women. From breast health services to cardiovascular care, Women\u2019s Health Center is revolutionizing the way LVHN provides care to the women in the region.<\/p>\n
