{"id":143754,"date":"2025-07-16T21:30:23","date_gmt":"2025-07-17T01:30:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=143754"},"modified":"2025-07-16T21:30:23","modified_gmt":"2025-07-17T01:30:23","slug":"kidspeace-dodgeball-tournament-raises-more-than-30000-to-support-organizations-lehigh-valley-based-programs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=143754","title":{"rendered":"KidsPeace Dodgeball Tournament Raises More Than $30,000 to Support Organization\u2019s Lehigh Valley-Based Programs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>SCHNECKSVILLE, PA (July 16, 2025)<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; Organizers of the 2nd Annual KidsPeace Dodgeball Tournament declared the charity event a rousing success \u2013 with ideal weather conditions, a repeat performance by its reigning champions, and nearly double the amount of money raised in last year\u2019s effort.<\/p>\n<p>In total, the June 26<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0event raised $31,000 in team registration fees to support quality-of-life improvements in the residential treatment and hospital areas of KidsPeace\u2019s Orchard Hills Campus, and the organization\u2019s Healthy Communities Fund, which helps local families access mental and behavioral health services at its Bethlehem and Allentown (Green Street) clinics.<\/p>\n<p>The 16 participating teams played three matches in a round robin format to qualify for the playoffs in the gym-class-staple competition.\u00a0 In the final, defending champion Tuskes Homes defeated Capital Blue Cross two games to none to retain the KidsPeace Dodgeball Tournament crown.<\/p>\n<p>Tournament organizer Shawn Hughes noted that the event ran smoothly despite having more teams participating this year: \u201cI really want to thank the volunteers and team organizers for their work in making sure we could manage all these games in a way that kept the day moving and everyone had a great time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost of all, on behalf of the KidsPeace Lehigh Valley Board of Associates, I want to express our appreciation for the financial support of the participating teams.\u00a0 Thanks to your generosity, KidsPeace will be able to make the lives of children and their families a little better, as they meet the challenges they face here,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Tuskes Homes and Capital Blue Cross, participating organizations in the 2025 tournament included People Security Bank and Trust, Benecon, BSI Corporate Benefits, Lehigh Valley Health Network, North Star Construction, Boyle Construction, Burkholders HVAC, First Commonwealth Federal Credit Union, and United Concordia.<\/p>\n<p>Hughes also announced that the 3rd Annual KidsPeace Dodgeball Tournament will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026.<\/p>\n<p><em>Since 1882, KidsPeace has been building on its expertise to give hope, help and healing to children, adults and those who love them.
