Trexlertown, PA \u2013 August 19, 2025<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 The Valley Preferred Cycling Center\u2019s\u00a0Friday Nights Under the Lights<\/em>\u00a0series is heading into its most pivotal night yet as the Rider of the Year (ROY) standings remain razor-thin on both the men\u2019s and women\u2019s sides. With the\u00a0l\u2019Avenir Cup<\/em>\u00a0and the\u00a0Mike Budjnoski BRL Final<\/em>\u00a0on tap this Friday at 7:00 PM, fans can expect elite pros vying for Rider of the Year points, developing juniors, and future stars for one of the most exciting nights of the summer.<\/p>\n

Men\u2019s Rider of the Year Battle<\/strong><\/p>\n

The men\u2019s Pro-Am ROY chase is a dead heat. New Zealand\u2019s\u00a0Magnus Jamieson<\/strong>\u00a0leads with 80 points after consistent podium finishes across the season. Close behind,\u00a0Liam Trepte<\/strong>\u00a0of Team BSR Mustangs and\u00a0Lance Abshire<\/strong>\u00a0(Chaney Windows and Doors) are locked in at 55 points each, both eyeing a big surge with strong results in the final race. There\u2019s only one race remaining to determine ROY points (10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1) and the overall Rider of the Year<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s Rider of the Year Tight Race<\/strong><\/p>\n

On the women\u2019s side, the standings are even closer.\u00a0Kimberly Zubris<\/strong>\u00a0(Star Track Cycling) sits at 75 points, narrowly holding off\u00a0Jessica Chong<\/strong>\u00a0(74) and\u00a0Jillian Halm<\/strong>\u00a0(Bike Works p\/b Fred Beans) (70). With just five points separating the top three, Friday\u2019s scratch race will determine the winner of this year\u2019s Women\u2019s Rider of the Year.<\/p>\n

Juniors Take Center Stage<\/strong><\/p>\n

The evening will also feature the\u00a0Mike Budjnoski Bicycle Racing League Final<\/strong>, where the next generation of cycling talent battles for their own honors. From chariot races to wheel races, the junior riders will showcase the same grit and determination that has defined the Valley Preferred Cycling Center for decades. Additional supporters of community programs include; Montecci Bikes, Crayola, Fitness Central and Orthodontics of the Lehigh Valley.<\/p>\n

Friday\u2019s schedule is packed with action, including crowd favorites such as the Miss & Out, Win & Out, and Points Race.
