In some cases, fraudulent flyers featuring the Sheriff\u2019s Department emblem and designed to appear authentic have been distributed. These communications provide directions on how and where to deposit a cash bond using a local kiosk.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This is a scam.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Northampton County Sheriff\u2019s Department does not:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Accept cash or credit card information for bail purposes<\/li>\n<li>Instruct individuals to use kiosks, online transfers, or other third-party methods for bail<\/li>\n<li>Solicit personal financial information by phone, text, or email<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Residents who believe they may have been victimized are urged to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Contact their local police department immediately.<\/li>\n<li>Report the scam to the Pennsylvania Attorney General\u2019s Office. 1-800-441-2555 or by emailing\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:scams@attorneygeneral.gov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">scams@attorneygeneral.gov<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Northampton County urges all residents to remain vigilant and cautious.
