(Sept. 3, 2025) \u2014 Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN), part of Jefferson Health, celebrated the dedication of the David and Jackie Jaindl Family Birth and Newborn Center at Lehigh Valley Hospital (LVH)\u2013Cedar Crest. With more than 3,100 births each year, the unit is the region\u2019s most comprehensive provider in pregnancy and delivery care services. The multiphase renovation began in September 2024 to ensure the spaces match the expert patient care and experience already provided.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGiving back is a core principle of our family, thanks to my father and grandfather,\u201d David Jaindl says. \u201cEveryone deserves access to high-quality health care, and our community counts on LVHN to provide that care,\u201d Jackie Jaindl says. \u201cOur family is honored to help make that possible for current and future generations in our region.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe renovations to the Family Birth and Newborn Center will be transformative for our patients, families, colleagues and community,\u201d says Amanda B. Flicker, MD, Interim Clinical Leader, Women\u2019s Health Service Line, Jefferson Health, and Chair, Department of Obstetrics &amp; Gynecology, LVHN. \u201cThanks to the generosity of the Jaindl family, we are creating the first-class experience they all deserve.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The updated features include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Makeover of family waiting room with new furnishings to add comfort for patients\u2019 families and friends<\/li>\n<li>A new bereavement room for families who experience a devastating loss<\/li>\n<li>Redesigned nurses\u2019 stations for improved communication, access and patient privacy<\/li>\n<li>Improved nurses\u2019 lounge with more privacy and space, including a wellness room for staff<\/li>\n<li>Renovated rooms with enhanced lighting and new d\u00e9cor, window coverings and furniture<\/li>\n<li>A new birthing suite dedicated to midwifery, creating a birth center feeling in a hospital environment, with hydrotherapy, special furnishings and more<\/li>\n<li>New staff locker rooms and on-call rooms for OB providers and anesthesiologists<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Expected completion for the multiphase project is December 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Newsweek ranks LVH\u2013Cedar Crest among the top maternity care hospitals in the U.S. for care provided to infants and mothers.<\/p>\n<p>The center\u2019s opening was celebrated with a ribbon cutting and reception on Sept. 3 attended by David and Jackie Jaindl, their five children and their spouses, 11 grandchildren and extended family, along with LVHN leaders and colleagues from the Family Birth and Newborn Center.<\/p>\n<p>Bob Begliomini, PharmD, President, Jefferson Health\u2013Lehigh Valley Region, spoke at the dedication, highlighting the Jaindls\u2019 deep roots at LVHN. \u201cThe Jaindl family\u2019s commitment to the Lehigh Valley\u2014and the health of this community\u2014is tremendous. David and Jackie continue their family\u2019s legacy at LVHN through their generous gift to the David and Jackie Jaindl Family Birth and Newborn Center, which fittingly resides in the Fred Jaindl Family Pavilion,\u201d Begliomini says.
