Reading, PA\u00a0<\/strong>\u2014 Treasurer Stacy Garrity today announced that more than $45,000 worth of unclaimed property was found for fans of the Reading Fightin Phils who attended the August 26 baseball game against the Chesapeake Baysox.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo many fans of the Reading Fightin Phils are in a league of their own after discovering they have more than $45,000 in unclaimed property,\u201d Treasurer Garrity said. \u201cJust like the Fightin Phils, my team and I work hard to help get unclaimed property back to its rightful owners \u2013 it\u2019s their property.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Reading Fightin Phils were so happy to partner with the Pennsylvania Treasury Department,\u201d\u00a0said Anthony Pignetti, Executive Director of Business Development for Reading Fightin Phils Baseball.\u00a0\u201cWe were very excited to be able to assist our fans in Berks County and beyond secure more than $45,000 worth of unclaimed property!\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/a> Fans who attended the game were assisted by Treasurer Garrity and Treasury\u2019s outreach staff as they searched for unclaimed property. The total identified to be returned is valued at $45,313.30.<\/p>\n

Unclaimed property can include dormant bank accounts, uncashed checks, insurance policies, contents of forgotten safe deposit boxes and more! State law requires businesses to report unclaimed property to Treasury after three years of dormancy.<\/p>\n
