Domestic Violence Awareness Month<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 October is domestic violence awareness month. In the Lehigh Valley, Turning Point is a local organization that dedicates their time and effort to offering support to individuals impacted by domestic violence. Melissa Robinson Grimmer, their training and education director, shared Turning Point\u2019s recent newsletter where she asked individuals to identify their why in regard to participating with their annual vigil.<\/p>\n

Their responses warmed my heart: \u201cI never want anyone to feel alone in what they\u2019re going through.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Vigil reminds me of the work we do and how sometimes it is life-saving.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s important for us to honor those who have lost their lives and support those still on their journey.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cListening to their wisdom and encouragement is something I\u2019ll never forget.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Vigil is something you have to experience. It is emotional\u2014but in a way that brings healing and unity.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

To me, Turning Point is near and dear to my heart since a few years ago, they gave me the opportunity to speak at their annual vigil. There is something so beautiful to be able to provide a safe space for someone to allow themselves to be vulnerable and to be a part of their healing journey. We all deserve to feel seen, heard, and believed. The strength of these women is incredible.<\/p>\n
