\nIn-Facility Offering is First of its Kind in Allentown, Pa.<\/strong><\/p>\n


\nALLENTOWN, Pa. (Oct. 2, 2025)<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Riverton Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center<\/a>\u00a0has opened its state-of-the-art, in-facility Dialysis Unit, the first of its kind in Allentown. The milestone comes as the center puts the finishing touches on a multi-million-dollar renovation and modernization of the Lehigh County skilled nursing facility.<\/p>\n

Riverton\u2019s six-chair Dialysis Unit operates in partnership with Dialyze Direct, one of the nation\u2019s leading providers of home dialysis services in skilled nursing facilities. The new offering complements Riverton\u2019s Chronic Kidney Disease Management Program.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe team at Riverton is thrilled with the center\u2019s top-to-bottom modernization \u2013 it\u2019s gorgeous,\u201d said Danielle Koons, regional vice president of market development, Pennsylvania, for\u00a0Marquis Health Consulting Services,<\/a>\u00a0which supports Riverton. \u201cOpening the new Dialysis Unit was a key piece of the vision for this modernization, aimed at augmenting Riverton\u2019s comprehensive suite of next-level skilled nursing care and services. The center is pleased to now offer in-facility dialysis; a much-needed service that was a direct ask from the center\u2019s hospital partners.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier phases of Riverton\u2019s renovation included a new therapy gym, featuring state-of-the-art equipment and technologies to support the delivery of progressive rehab services. The gym\u2019s spacious activities of daily living (ADL) suite mimics a home environment with a kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. Renovations also included updated patient rooms and a new lobby.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Riverton has continued to introduce new physician-led specialty care programming, including a subacute Stroke Recovery Program. In tandem, the center became the first in Pennsylvania \u2013 and one of the first in the nation \u2013 to earn the\u00a0Skilled Nursing Facility Stroke Rehabilitation Certification<\/a>\u00a0offered by the American Heart Association\u00ae\u00a0, the world\u2019s leading nonprofit organization focused on heart and brain health for all.<\/p>\n

Located at 803 N. Wahneta Street in Allentown, Riverton offers post-hospital care, short-term rehab and long-term residential care; its reputation for quality care and services is well established. The Lehigh County facility maintains a Five-Star Overall rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and has earned the prestigious Nursing Care Center Accreditation from\u00a0The Joint Commission<\/a>.
