Physical Therapy at St. Luke\u2019s Helps Business Owner Kick Chronic Foot Pain<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tony Pagliaroli has always embraced an active lifestyle\u2014racing motorcycles, hiking, and taking his dogs for long walks. But two years ago, the owner of Scott Powersports in Coopersburg found himself spending countless hours on his shop\u2019s unforgiving concrete floors \u2013 and his feet began to protest.<\/p>\n

Persistent foot pain became a daily struggle. He tried everything: foot massages, stretching, rest, icing and high-end athletic shoes. Nothing provided lasting relief.<\/p>\n

An initial visit to\u00a0St. Luke\u2019s Podiatry<\/a>\u00a0determined Tony was experiencing chronic tendonitis, and he was referred to\u00a0Elizabeth \u201cLiz\u201d Scifers, DPT<\/a>, who is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopedic\u00a0& Sports Physical Therapy\u00a0and the program manager for foot and ankle care at\u00a0Physical Therapy at St. Luke\u2019s<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI carefully analyzed Tony\u2019s foot mechanics and designed a custom orthotic with a lateral post\u2014built up on the outside\u2014to correct his foot position,\u201d says Scifers, \u201ca simple yet precise solution, tailored to his unique needs.<\/p>\n

The results? Immediate and transformative.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe orthotics Liz hooked me up with have been life-changing,\u201d Tony says. \u201cI work on concrete all day, at least 60 hours per week, and she, along with Dr. Eric Bronfenbrenner, completely resolved my issues. I can\u2019t say enough good things about either of them.\u201d<\/p>\n

To ensure continued relief, Tony leaves his shoes\u2014equipped with his custom orthotics\u2014at the shop, so he\u2019s never without them during work.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe pain was so bad, I thought I would have to sell the business. Now, with the orthotics, I have no pain. Liz knocked it out of the park.\u201d<\/p>\n
