Lehigh Valley, PA <\/strong>\u2013 BW NICE, Business Women Networking Involving Charity & Education, Lehigh Valley Chapter is recognizing chapter member Michele D\u2019Amico as Chapter Member of the Year at the organization\u2019s annual December Sip & Shop fundraising event, which is open to the public. Funds raised will support the organization\u2019s charity partner, The Third Street Alliance for Women & Children. The evening will also include multiple vendors, giving participants the opportunity to shop for the upcoming holiday season. Tickets, which include appetizers and dessert, can be purchased at this link.<\/a><\/p>\n

Michele, a BW NICE Lehigh Valley Chapter member since 2012, is a glass artist who discovered hot glass in 2006; falling in love with it, she enrolled as a student at Penland School of Craft and the Pittsburgh Glass Center. She has served as BW NICE Lehigh Valley Chapter Treasurer and creates award plaques for the BW NICE Chapters across the organization.<\/p>\n

Michele created the Businesswoman of the Year Award, a hot glass sculpted 3D red stiletto mounted on a crystal base.<\/p>\n

She is the owner of Ashes 2 Art, LLC, which memorializes loved one’s ashes in glass by creating wearable art or paperweights.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have always wanted to help women in distress, it’s a passion of mine. As women, we don’t always keep our own best interests at heart, and we suffer for it. Being a member of BW NICE has allowed me to participate in supporting Third Street Alliance in their efforts to help women in need.\u201d said Michele, \u201cI believe in the mission of BW NICE to promote involvement and support local shelters, because when we take care of others, we help ourselves as well.\u201d<\/p>\n
