Nick Miller (D-Lehigh\/Northampton) and Sen. Lisa Boscola (D-Lehigh\/Northampton) announced today that 9 grants have been awarded to aid crime victims, promote crime prevention and aid in the administration of criminal justice administration in both Lehigh and Northampton counties by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency totaling $1,662,307.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInvesting in community safety and violence intervention is essential to building stronger, healthier neighborhoods,\u201d said Senator Nick Miller. \u201cThis funding strengthens the long-term stability of essential programs, from expanded mental health responses to effective firearm-intervention and prevention efforts. Today\u2019s awards deliver the resources our Lehigh Valley communities need to stay safe, support recovery, and ensure these critical initiatives continue making a real difference.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is essential that our Commonwealth partner with our counties and organizations such as the the Crime Victims Council to ensure crime victims receive the services they need,\u201d Senator Boscola stated. \u201cAdditionally, these PCCD grants will provide critical funding for \u2018Resilient LV: Prevent, Intervene, Heal\u2019 program of the United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley that aims to address issues caused by childhood trauma.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The following grants were approved:<\/p>\n<p>` <strong>Federal FY 2024 Byrne State Crisis Intervention Program:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley \u2013 Resilient LV: Prevent, Intervene Heal $362,652<\/li>\n<li>City of Bethlehem \u2013 Improving Response to Mental Health $156,044<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Federal State Opioid Response Grant IV (SOR) Funds<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Valley Health Partners Community Health Center \u2013 VHPs SM-CJN Program $423,386<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Federal STOP Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) Funds<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lehigh County \u2013 Lehigh County STOP Violence Against Women $125,000<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>State Children\u2019s Advocacy Center Funds<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lehigh County \u2013 Lehigh County Developing CAC 2025 $47,000<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Federal Victims of Crime Act, Crime Victim Services and Compensation Funds, Victims of Juvenile Offender Funda<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lehigh County: Lehigh County Victim\/Witness Unit (VW\/RASA) $217,428<\/li>\n<li>Crime Victims Council of Lehigh Valley, Inc.: RASA Northampton County and VOJO Lehigh County $93,846<\/li>\n<li>Crime Victims Council of Lehigh Valley, Inc.: RASA Northampton County and VOJO Lehigh County $21,000<\/li>\n<li>Northampton County: Victims Right Project Year 2025 $215,951<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>PCCD met today to approve First Chance Trust Fund Program Augmentation, Federal FY2024 Byrne State Crisis Intervention Program Funds \u2013 Firearm Suicide Prevention, Intervention and Postvention, Federal FY 2024 Byrne State Crisis Intervention Program Local and Under $10k Share Funds, Federal FY 2024 Byrne State Crisis Intervention Program Funds \u2013 Sequential Intercept Model Training, Federal State Opioid Response Grant IV (SOR) Funds, State Endowment Act Funds, State Children\u2019s Advocacy Center Funds, County Intermediate Punishment Treatment Funds, County Adult Probation and Parole Grant Funds, Federal STOP Violence Against Women Act Funds, Federal Victims of Crime Act, Crime Victims Services and Compensation, and Victims of Juvenile Offender Funds, Federal Victims of Crime Act Funds, Community Violence Intervention and Prevention Initiatives Grant Program, State Violence &amp; Delinquency Prevention Programs and Department of Human Services Funds, Federal Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Funds, 2026 Federal Residential Substance Abuse Treatment (RSAT) Funds, and Local Law Enforcement Support Grant Program.
