LCA is asking customers to clear at least three feet of space around hydrants and to shovel a clear path from the hydrant to the street to ensure first responders can act quickly when seconds matter.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/keep-it-clear.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-0\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-147311\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/keep-it-clear.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"714\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/keep-it-clear.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/keep-it-clear-252x300.jpg 252w, https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/keep-it-clear-300x357.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;During a fire emergency, accessibility to hydrants can make a critical difference,&#8221; said Liesel Gross, CEO of Lehigh County Authority. &#8220;We appreciate our crews and municipal partners working around the clock, but community help is essential. Clearing snow from hydrants is a simple step customers can take to help protect their neighbors and support our firefighters.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>LCA reminds customers that hydrants are typically located near the curb or sidewalk and may not always be directly in front of a home.
