Capital\u2019s support has helped fund learning initiatives benefiting thousands of children.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCapital Blue Cross is proud to invest in programs that provide support and expand opportunities for children and their families across our region,\u201d said Capital Blue Cross President and CEO Todd Shamash. \u201cWe also appreciate the Commonwealth\u2019s elected leaders for their continued support of this vital tax credit grant program. By supporting these initiatives, we\u2019re empowering the next generation to thrive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Here are some of the local programs that Capital\u2019s funding helped make possible:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lehigh County<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Allentown Symphony Association<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This grant helped strengthen the \u201cMusic for Social Change\u201d program that offers underserved and special-needs kids free daily music instruction, ensemble experiences and tutoring to build life skills, confidence and academic success through the El Sistema Lehigh Valley initiative.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Da Vinci Discovery Center of Science and Technology<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Funding advanced the STEAM Career Pathways Program, engaging students in grades 6\u201312 with hands-on learning and career exploration in science, technology, engineering, arts and math.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Easterseals<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Received support to expand programs for youth with disabilities, including employment preparation through LEAP (Learn, Earn, Achieve, Practice) and summer enrichment at Camp Growing Green, which combines environmental education with traditional camp activities to foster independence and personal growth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Northampton County<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Equi-Librium, Inc.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ride, Learn, and Grow uses equine-assisted learning to teach life skills, confidence, empathy and self-control through interactive activities with horses. The program aligns with classroom standards and reinforces language, science, and math skills for academic and personal growth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Children&#8217;s Home of Easton<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Grant funding enhances the Firmstone Family Services Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinic, expanding access to mental health care for children, youth and adults.
