On Saturday, March 28, 2026 the Bethlehem Detachment 284, Marine Corps League will honor Alan Jennings as Citizen of the Year. This annual award has been an tradition going back 40 years.<\/p>\n

The setting will be a traditional military “Mess Night”–a meal enlivened with military tradition: toasts, good humored fun, and fund raising to include a silent auction for the various charitable causes and scholarships that we sponsor.<\/p>\n

Alan Jennings has distinguished himself in Bethlehem and the Lehigh Valley by his unrelenting support of needy and deserving residents of the community to include numerous veterans in his 40-career as an internationally recognized leader in community development and service. He is now retired, but headed what is now called the Community Action Committee Lehigh Valley.<\/p>\n

Jennings has also supported the Lehigh Valley Military Affairs Council as a speaker and advisor.<\/p>\n
