Trexlertown, PA\u00a0\u2014 The\u00a0Valley Preferred Cycling Center, home of the iconic T-Town Velodrome, is inviting talented singers and groups from across the region to perform the\u00a0National Anthem\u00a0during its\u00a050th Anniversary Friday Night Racing Series\u00a0this summer.<\/p>\n
The Velodrome\u2019s historic anniversary season runs\u00a0May 29 through August 14, 2026, and organizers are looking for individuals, families, school groups, choirs, and community performers who would like the opportunity to open the evening\u2019s racing program with a performance of\u00a0\u201cThe Star-Spangled Banner.\u201d<\/p>\n
The National Anthem is performed\u00a0each Friday night at approximately 7:00 PM\u00a0before the start of world-class track cycling competition.<\/p>\n
\u201cCelebrating 50 years of racing at the Valley Preferred Cycling Center is a special moment for our community,\u201d said Gary Thornton, executive director of the Valley Preferred Cycling Center. \u201cWe would love to showcase local voices and give singers the opportunity to be part of the tradition that kicks off each Friday night of racing.\u201d<\/p>\n
Performing the National Anthem at the Velodrome places singers in front of an enthusiastic crowd and a unique sporting atmosphere as fans gather for one of the region\u2019s most exciting summer traditions.<\/p>\n
While performances are\u00a0unpaid, selected singers and their immediate family members or group will receive\u00a0complimentary admission\u00a0to enjoy the evening\u2019s racing events.<\/p>\n
