{"id":148510,"date":"2026-04-06T22:26:17","date_gmt":"2026-04-07T02:26:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=148510"},"modified":"2026-04-06T22:26:17","modified_gmt":"2026-04-07T02:26:17","slug":"pa-physicians-group-honors-st-lukes-doctor-for-excellence-in-family-medicine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=148510","title":{"rendered":"PA Physicians Group Honors St. Luke\u2019s Doctor for Excellence in Family Medicine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Pennsylvania Academy of Family Physicians (PAFP) announced\u00a0the winners of the organization\u2019s annual physician awards, naming St. Luke\u2019s\u00a0Nguyet-Cam\u00a0Vu\u00a0Lam, MD, the 2026 Family Physician\u00a0of the Year.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Lam is Program Director of the St. Luke\u2019s Bethlehem Family Medicine Residency Program, Clinical Professor at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, and a Family Medicine Physician with Star Community Health.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDr. Lam epitomizes what is best about Family Medicine and St. Luke\u2019s. She is an excellent physician, beloved by her patients, and an outstanding leader who inspires her colleagues and her residents,\u201d said, Robert Langan, M.D., who also is a St. Luke\u2019s physician and works alongside Dr. Lam.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThroughout her time here, she has set\u00a0high expectations\u00a0for herself and those around her, and her enthusiasm, hard work, and genuine concern for others has allowed her team to thrive. I can think of few Family Physicians who are more deserving of this outstanding recognition than Dr. Lam and on behalf of\u00a0all of\u00a0the people whose lives have been touched by her, I offer my most heartfelt congratulations!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The award\u00a0was\u00a0presented at the\u00a0PAFP\u2019s\u00a0spring conference in Bethlehem\u00a0on April 3.\u00a0In recognition of outstanding patient care and dedication to the field of family medicine,\u00a0the\u00a0Family Physician\u00a0of the Year\u00a0award\u00a0is given to a physician who:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Demonstrates a commitment to comprehensive, compassionate care for patients<\/li>\n<li>Pursues excellence in medicine with integrity and the highest ethical standards<\/li>\n<li>Promotes trust in science<\/li>\n<li>Honors the physician-patient relationship; furthers the specialty of family medicine<\/li>\n<li>Serves as a role model\u00a0and motivator to patients and colleagues<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A\u00a0graduate of\u00a0Kigezi\u00a0International School of Medicine (Cambridge,\u00a0England, and Uganda), Dr. Lam\u00a0completed her residency at St. Luke\u2019s Bethlehem Campus.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0PAFP\u00a0and its Foundation support its 5,500+ members through advocacy and education to ensure physician-coordinated and\u00a0comprehensive quality health care.
