Annual Indie Bookstore event celebrated on April 25, 2026<\/em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Allentown, PA \u2014 <\/strong>The End Bookstore is happy to announce our participation in the 13th Anniversary of Independent Bookstore Day, Saturday, April 25 from 10 to 5pm.<\/p>\n

Independent Bookstore Day is organized by the American Booksellers Association, a national, not-for-profit trade organization, that works with booksellers and industry partners to ensure the success and profitability of independently owned book retailers, and to assist in expanding the community of the book. The End Bookstore will have over 15 IBD exclusive items for sale and as giveaways, from tote bags to hats and special edition books. This year, The End Bookstore will celebrate Independent Bookstore Day with exciting guests from A Storybook Party, celebrating NEVERLAND, at 1:30pm, a donation drive for the Boys & Girls Club of Allentown, and free gifts with purchase. There is also a chance to win multiple prizes: an Indie Bookstore Day tote bag filled to the brim, three gift certificates to Bloomery, Art Co., plus Libro.fm GOLDEN TICKET \u2013 12 free audio books, and more! The shop will open 30 minutes early for members.<\/p>\n

\u201cIndependent Bookstore Day is one of our favorite days of the year! It both celebrates both the bookseller and the reader. We are so excited to have participated for 12 of the 13 years in the Lehigh Valley and look forward to many more,\u201d said Kirsten Hess, owner, The End Bookstore. Kirsten is on the executive committee of the regional trade association, New Atlantic Independent Booksellers Association (NAIBA), covering PA, NY, NJ, MD, DE & VA, and is passionate about raising awareness of the value of independent businesses in our communities.<\/p>\n

Independent Bookstore Day (Indie Bookstore Day) was established in 2013 to promote, celebrate, and highlight the value of the Independent Bookstore Community. The day has been observed on the last Saturday of April every year since 2013. This year there are over 1,600 stores participating across the country.<\/p>\n
