{"id":149143,"date":"2026-05-04T22:22:10","date_gmt":"2026-05-05T02:22:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=149143"},"modified":"2026-05-04T22:22:10","modified_gmt":"2026-05-05T02:22:10","slug":"lehigh-valley-reilly-childrens-hospital-celebrates-may-the-fourth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=149143","title":{"rendered":"Lehigh Valley Reilly Children\u2019s Hospital Celebrates May the Fourth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Images provided by: Jefferson<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Galactic heroes unite with real-world healers to make patients smile<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Allentown, Pa.\u00a0<\/strong>(May 4, 2026) \u2014 On \u201cMay the Fourth,\u201d beloved characters from the Star Wars universe descended upon Lehigh Valley Reilly Children\u2019s Hospital, part of Jefferson Health.<\/p>\n<p>Local Star Wars fan groups Kyber Base and Garrison Carida continued their tradition of teaming up with Sodexo Food Services for an out-of-this-world experience.<\/p>\n<p>About 30 costumed volunteers spent the day meeting and taking photos with families. Chewbacca, Darth Vader, Din Djarin, Tusken Raiders and Stormtroopers were among the fan favorites.<\/p>\n<p>Starlight Children\u2019s Foundation donated special t-shirts and backpacks for the patients.<\/p>\n<p>The characters also visited patients and colleagues at Lehigh Valley Hospital\u2014Cedar Crest and Lehigh Valley Hospital\u2014Muhlenberg.<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-image-carousel
