The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts (Charter Arts) Music Department presents its Spring 2026 Instrumental Concert, on May 15th at 7 PM. This vibrant and impressive concert will feature the school’s Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, Guitar Ensemble and Percussion Ensemble performing a wide range of repertoire.<\/p>\n
Highlights of the evening will include the Orchestra\u2019s performance of selections from Aaron Copland\u2019s\u00a0Appalachian Spring<\/em>, connecting to\u00a0America 250<\/em>\u00a0and the department\u2019s recent trip to Nashville. The Orchestra, led by Mr. Thomas Maher, will also perform an original work inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright\u2019s iconic\u00a0Fallingwater<\/em>\u00a0in Mill Run, PA, as well as music from John Powell\u2019s\u00a0How to Train Your Dragon.<\/em><\/p>\n The Guitar Ensemble program led by Mr. Joseph Bucci will feature selections from Philip Hemmo\u2019s\u00a0The Nine Planets\u00a0<\/em>and the aria from Gluck\u2019s\u00a0Orfeo et Euridice<\/em>.<\/p>\n Tickets are Reserved Seating: $14 Adult, $8 Student\/Child. Purchase at CharterArts.org<\/a> or at the door.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n ABOUT THE CHARTER ARTS MUSIC PROGRAM:<\/strong><\/p>\n The Charter Arts Music Department offers a rigorous music education taught by award-winning and accomplished faculty that develops students into well-rounded and professional musicians and vocalists.<\/p>\n The instrumental music curriculum includes classes in classical, jazz, and contemporary music styles while performing in large ensembles that include Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble, Latin Music Ensemble, Wind Ensemble and Contemporary Music Ensemble as well as small ensembles that include strings, guitar and percussion.\u00a0 Students enjoy individual and small setting technique classes with a music faculty member who specializes in their instrument. These specialists include bass (electric and upright), brass, guitar, percussion, piano, strings, and woodwinds. The instrumental music program is led by Artistic Director, Matthew Wells.<\/p>\n The vocal music curriculum includes tracks in classical art song, musical theatre, and pop\/contemporary that allow students to focus and hone their skills with one-on-one instruction by professional voice specialists.\u00a0 In addition, the Singer\/Songwriter track includes Songwriting, Music Production and Contemporary Music Performance Practices.
