Roosevelt Park, located at E. Saucon & S. Filmore streets in Allentown, will be the site of two city-sponsored events this coming weekend.<\/p>\n

On Friday, July 8<\/span>, the city Department of Parks and Recreation will present the fourth installment of the 2016 Movies in the Park series with \u201cHotel Transylvania 2,\u201d starring Adam Sandler, Andy Sandberg, and Selena Gomez. The movie will begin at dusk (approximately 8:45pm<\/span>).<\/p>\n

\u201cNow that Dracula has opened the Hotel Transylvania’s doors to humans, things are changing for the better; however, Drac is secretly worried that his half-human grandson, Dennis, isn’t showing his vampire side. So, while Mavis and Johnny are away, Drac enlists his friends to help him put the boy through a “monster-in-training” boot camp. But things really get batty when Drac’s cantankerous, old-school Dad pays an unexpected visit.\u201d<\/p>\n

The movie is rated PG and will run for roughly 100 minutes. The rain date is Saturday, July 9<\/span>.<\/p>\n

The Allentown Public Library will be on site to offer a storytelling session from 7:30pm \u2013 8:30pm<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Paint & Party Studios will also be at the park from 7pm \u2013 8pm<\/span> to help participants create an art project. Reservations are required, and there is a $5.00 fee per person. Interested persons should contact Paint & Party Studios at 610-351-3532<\/a> to make reservations.<\/p>\n

Food vendors including \u201cKona Ice\u201d and \u201cThe Popcorn Pit\u201d will be present in the park during the event.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, July 9<\/span>, the city of Allentown Summer Concert Series will present a concert by the Marine Band at 7:30pm<\/span> at Roosevelt Park. If the movie is postponed to Saturday<\/span> evening due to inclement weather, the concert will begin at 7pm<\/span>, with the movie immediately following.<\/p>\n
