September Opening is Slated for Hamilton Street <\/strong><\/p>\n

ALLENTOWN, PA (JULY 13, 2016<\/span>)<\/strong> — Blondies Cupcakes of Catasauqua will bring its award winning cupcakes, hearty “Slovak Soul Food,” and fifty specialty hot dog creations to a newly refurbished 1,500 square foot retail shop at 621 Hamilton Street. The location, a former check cashing shop, will bring lively retro flavor, and tasty affordable foods to center city.<\/p>\n

A September 2016 opening is expected, according to Thomas Williams Jr., Director of Real Estate, Cityline Construction, landlord of the property. Cityline will also serve as general contractor and will bring interior design expertise to the new retail location, next door to Jimmy’s Downtown Barbershop. Cityline Construction renovated, and designed Jimmy’s Barbershop, which opened on Hamilton Street, fall 2015.<\/p>\n

“Blondies will add a great mix of fun, affordability and excellent locally made menu items to the growth of Center City,” says Williams. He says Blondies has built strong ties at its flagship location and across the Catasauqua community. \u00a0\u00a0“We are looking forward to Blondies being part of the community in Center City Allentown as well,” adds Williams.\u00a0 The owners of Blondies recently added the Allentown Farmer’s Market to their mix of retail.<\/p>\n

Hearty, creative hot dog creations by Blondies, will be featured in the new Hamilton Street location. Signature cupcakes will also be part of the menu.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Co-owner Rebecca Gillespie, AKA Blondie, may be noted for her national appearance on The Food Network’s Cup Cake Wars, however in her Catasauqua shop, she is known for down-to-earth charm, eclectic mix of vintage attire and decor, and engaging conversation with customers.<\/p>\n

Her husband, Chad Gillespie, is no stranger to TV fame. He was a finalist on Spike TV’s Frankenfood’s last fall. Chad will be bring his famous hot dog specialty meals, comfort food such as Irish Halupki, or Catty Nachos, most priced around the $5 mark, to Hamilton Street.
