On Saturday, July 16 the Valley Preferred Cycling Center is set to host the 100th<\/sup> anniversary of the Goodwill Fire Company community celebration.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are honored to host this celebration,\u201d VPCC Events and Communications Manager Juliann Masenheimer said. \u201cThe Goodwill Fire Company does a lot for us here at the track, as well as the community overall. Both of us pride ourselves on giving back to the community, so hosting our neighborhood friends was something we really wanted to do here in T-town.\u201d<\/p>\n The Goodwill Fire Company, which is stationed in Trexlertown, Pennsylvania began in 1916 and has been serving the community ever since. On Saturday, it is inviting all members of the community to celebrate the first century.<\/p>\n The day begins at 1 p.m. with the Four County Fireman\u2019s Parade which starts at St. Paul\u2019s Lutheran Church on the corner of Hamilton Boulevard and Weilers Road. It then travels east on Hamilton Boulevard towards the 1760 Pub\u2019N\u2019Grille, where the judges will be stationed. The procession then makes a right turn onto Trexlertown Road and ends at St. Paul\u2019s United Church of Christ.<\/p>\n Bolt, VPCC\u2019s mascot, as well as junior riders from T-town Elite, VPCC\u2019s Junior Performance Academy, alongside Olympic gold medalist and their coach, Marty Nothstein, will travel in the parade.<\/p>\n Following the parade, the community celebration in T-town begins. The A-treat Breakaway caf\u00e9 as well as VPCC\u2019s Beer and Wine Stand will be open, featuring a beer garden on the VeloDeck.<\/p>\n The afternoon festivities at the velodrome include proclamations from several local leaders such as U.S. Representative Charlie Dent and Nothstein, who is a Lehigh County Commissioner.<\/p>\n Additionally, the Woodland String Band is scheduled to perform their theme for 2016, Jurassic Park. Also, the School\u2019s Out Band is set to perform as well.<\/p>\n The final event of the day is a trophy presentation, honoring the best floats in the parade. That ceremony will take place at approximately 5pm. The event officially ends at 8pm.<\/p>\n The chairman of the event, Dennis J. McArdle, wants to see plenty of community members out enjoying the festivities.<\/p>\n \u201cI hope they all come out to help us celebrate and join us in starting another century of serving our community,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n #ttown<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n
