The city of Allentown Department of Parks and Recreation\u2019s Movies in the Park series continues Saturday, July 23<\/span> at West Park with a Picnic & a Movie screening of \u201cThe Intern.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n This PG-13 rated movie starring Robert DeNiro and Anne Hathaway features 70-year-old widower Ben Whittaker (DeNiro) who has discovered that retirement is unfulfilling. Capitalizing on a chance to get back into the game, he becomes a senior intern at an online fashion site, founded and run by Jules Ostin (Hathaway).<\/p>\n The approximately 120 minute show will begin at dusk (approximately 8:45pm<\/span>).<\/p>\n The movie will be preceded by an installment of the Parks and Recreation Department Summer Concert Series at West Park featuring the Municipal Band performing at 6:30pm<\/span>.<\/p>\n Paint & Party Studios will also be at the park from 7pm-8pm<\/span> to help participants create an art project.\u00a0 Reservations are required, and there is a $5.00 per person fee.\u00a0 Interested persons should contact Paint & Party Studios at 610-351-3532<\/a> to make reservations.<\/p>\n In addition, the West Park Civic Association will be holding its Picnic and a Movie event during the concert and movie.\u00a0 To reserve your seating, which includes tablecloths and fresh flowers, call 610-434-0657<\/a>.\u00a0 The Association will also be collecting donations of school supplies and funds for uniforms for William Allen High School at this event.<\/p>\n Food Vendors \u201cKona Ice\u201d and \u201cStuffed to the Grills\u201d will be present in the park during the event.<\/p>\n The rain date is Sunday, July 24<\/span>.<\/p>\n In case of inclement weather, please call the Recreation Inclement Weather Hotline at 610-437-7750<\/a> after office hours, or visit us on Facebook for postponement information at www.facebook.com\/allentownparkandrec<\/a>.<\/p>\n Be sure to check<\/em> out our other Movies in the Park this season! <\/u><\/p>\n \u201cSpectre\u201d<\/em> on Saturday, August 13<\/span> at West Park<\/p>\n \u201cStar Wars: The Force Awakens\u201d<\/em> on Saturday, September 16<\/span> at the Arts Park<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n
