{"id":1833,"date":"2014-11-26T17:21:18","date_gmt":"2014-11-26T22:21:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/wordpress\/?p=1833"},"modified":"2014-11-26T17:21:18","modified_gmt":"2014-11-26T22:21:18","slug":"schreibers-bridge-reopens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=1833","title":{"rendered":"SCHREIBER\u2019S BRIDGE REOPENS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>Schreiber\u2019s Bridge at Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Lehigh Parkway East in the city of Allentown reopened this afternoon.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Project crews completed the remediation and strengthening of the arch ring supports that began in late October by shotcreting and filling surface voids and injecting pressure grout to fill internal voids in the masonry arch structure.\u00a0 The overall structural integrity of the bridge has been increased to make the bridge safe for car traffic.<\/p>\n<p>Some daytime work will continue to complete scour protection around the base of the piers and abutments.<\/p>\n<p>The bridge repairs and scour protection is being performed by Grace Industries, Inc. out of Bath, PA. The construction contract amount is $144,375.50.
