{"id":19527,"date":"2016-08-18T18:26:55","date_gmt":"2016-08-18T22:26:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=19527"},"modified":"2016-08-18T18:26:55","modified_gmt":"2016-08-18T22:26:55","slug":"allentown-updates-pool-closing-doggie-dip-schedule","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=19527","title":{"rendered":"ALLENTOWN UPDATES POOL CLOSING AND DOGGIE DIP SCHEDULE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The city of Allentown Department of Parks and Recreation is revising its end of the season pool closing and doggie dip program schedule.<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">This change in schedule is due to staffing shortages that leave city facilities inadequately staffed to properly and safely operate for the public.<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Mack Pool will close for the season at 7:00pm on Friday August 19<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Irving Pool will close for the season at 7:00pm on Friday August 26<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Jordan Pool will close for the season at 7:00pm on Monday September 5\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">This year also marks the 11<\/span><sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">th<\/span><\/sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> year of the city of Allentown Department of Parks and Recreation Doggie Dip Program.\u00a0 2016 Doggie Dips will take place on:<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Saturday, August 20 at Mack Pool from 12:00-4:00pm<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Tuesday, September 6 at Jordan Pool from 3:00-7:00pm<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Wednesday, September 7 at Jordan Pool from 3:00-7:00pm<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The doggie dip program is a great way to get a chance to play, run free and swim in our city pools after they are closed for the season. Cost for the event is $4.00 for city of Allentown residents and $6.00 for non-residents. Each dog will need to be up to date on all shots and have a valid 2016 dog license. Any dog which becomes aggressive will be asked to leave.
