font-family: Cambria;\">The <a href=\"http:\/\/statetheatre.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">State Theatre <\/a>welcomed the return of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.brianwilson.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Brian Wilson <\/a>Sunday night as he performed to a sold out crowd.\u00a0 Wrapping up the tour of The Beach Boys 50<\/span><sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Cambria; font-size: small;\">th<\/span><\/sup><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Cambria;\"> anniversary of the release of their highly acclaimed album, \u2018Pet Sounds\u2019, Wilson stated this would be the final tour of this album in its entirety.\u00a0 Coincidently, Wilson shared with the audience, \u201cthis tour started at the State Theatre, and I think we\u2019ve got it down now.\u201d<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Cambria;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Cambria;\">Filling the stage, Wilson was accompanied by a twelve piece all star band which included long time Beach Boys member, Al Jardine.\u00a0 While The Beach Boys fans spans several generations, the same applies to band members, such as Matthew Jardine, Al Jardine\u2019s son on acoustic guitar, who spent years learning to sing The Beach Boys style.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Cambria;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Cambria;\">Blondie Chapman, lead guitarist, has previously toured with The Beach Boys, as well as The Rolling Stones, covered the stage as he highlighted his expertise.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Cambria;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Cambria;\">Warming up the audience with handclaps, the first half of the performance was strictly Beach Boys hit songs, as the band opened with \u201cCalifornia Girls\u201d and included \u201cI Get Around\u201d, \u201cLittle Deuce Coupe\u201d, \u201cIn My Room\u201d, and the first song Brian Wilson wrote, \u00a0\u201cSurfer Girl\u201d.\u00a0 The first standing ovation came with the song, \u201cDon\u2019t Worry Baby\u201d.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Cambria;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Cambria;\">Back in the sixties, The Beach Boys set themselves apart with what was known as the California sound, or surfer music.\u00a0 With two Beach Boys present, the band filled in the harmonies beautifully, as the rich vocals swirled back to yesteryear.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Cambria;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Cambria;\">Continuing with the set, the band also performed, \u201c Salt Lake City\u201d, with a blue spotlight set on Wilson, and a clarinet solo, \u201cDarlin\u2019\u201d, which was upbeat full of handclaps, and offered strong pulsating drum lines.\u00a0 \u201cWild Honey\u201d, which Wilson described as slow rock song.\u00a0 Surely, he was joking.\u00a0 The set closed with \u201cSail on Sailor\u201d.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Cambria;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Cambria;\">After a brief intermission, it was time to get down to business.\u00a0 \u2018Pet Sounds\u2019 kicked off with \u201cWouldn\u2019t it be Nice\u201d, \u201cYou Still Believe in Me\u201d, \u201cThat\u2019s Not Me\u201d, and two favorites of this reporter,\u00a0 \u201cSloop John B\u201d which included a flute intro, and \u201cGod Only Knows\u201d, which brought the audience to their feet for a second standing ovation.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Cambria;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Cambria;\">At the close of \u2018Pet Sounds\u2019, one would think that would be the end of the show.\u00a0 Wilson and the band returned to perform an amazing six song encore that included the classic Beach Boys fan favorites.\u00a0 \u201cGood Vibrations\u201d, brought the audience to their feet for a third standing ovation, and the audience remained standing, and danced through the remaining songs, \u201cHelp Me, Rhonda\u201d,\u00a0 \u201cBarbara Ann\u201d, \u201cSurfing USA\u201d,\u00a0 \u201cFun, Fun, Fun\u201d and \u201cLove and Mercy.\u201d<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;
