Amanda Ressler was nominated for the award by students in her English classes\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n SCHNECKSVILLE, Pa.<\/strong> | Thanks to her Lehigh Career & Technical Institute students, Amanda Ressler is the October honoree of B104\u2019s Teacher Salute program.<\/p>\n More than a dozen students nominated Ressler for the award, which the radio station presents each month to kindergarten through 12th-grade instructors in the greater Lehigh Valley. Ressler, who teaches English in LCTI\u2019s Academic Center, is B104\u2019s first winner of the 2016-17 school year.<\/p>\n In their nominations, students described Ressler as \u201cthe coolest English teacher ever,\u201d \u201csuper fun\u201d and \u201cvery dedicated.\u201d They said Ressler\u2019s got a fantastic sense of humor, doesn\u2019t hesitate to tell it like it is and will do just about anything to help a student learn, even rap.<\/p>\n Here\u2019s a sampling of the comments students submitted with their nominations:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cShe\u2019s very creative when it comes to teaching. She keeps us busy, engaged and interested in every lesson. I enjoy being part of her third period class here at LCTI. She has her rules like every other teacher does, however, they are not overboard. She\u2019s a teacher and a friend.\u201d -Jeilynn Garcia<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cShe is special because she shows sympathy; she helps when we need help. She doesn\u2019t give up on our education; she\u2019s very loving.\u201d -Zakiyah Riley<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n B104\u2019s Mike & Steph of \u201cMike & Steph in the Morning\u201d announced Ressler\u2019s big win on the radio earlier this month. Then on Tuesday<\/span> (Oct. 25), they stopped by LCTI to deliver Ressler\u2019s prizes, which included a Little Cesar\u2019s Pizza party.<\/p>\n In addition to lunching on pizza with Mike, Steph and her students, Ressler received a $250 gift certificate from Meera Salon & Day Spa in Whitehall Township, a B104 T-shirt and a framed certificate.<\/p>\n About Lehigh Career & Technical Institute<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Lehigh Career & Technical Institute is Pennsylvania\u2019s largest career and technical school.
