The mural design\u2014a stylized sunrise that will span the south- and west-facing corners of the deck at Church Street\u2014was chosen from proposals submitted this summer, with Amber Art and Design of Philadelphia having their proposal selected. The project was approved by the city\u2019s Public Art Committee and is being made possible by City Center Lehigh Valley, which provided $45,000 for the mural\u2019s creation. <u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"m_4145780768659484500Default\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-23255 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/ArtsWalk-mural-design-168x300.jpg\" alt=\"artswalk-mural-design\" width=\"168\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/ArtsWalk-mural-design-168x300.jpg 168w, https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/ArtsWalk-mural-design.jpg 439w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 168px) 100vw, 168px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"m_4145780768659484500Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt; font-family: 'Helvetica',sans-serif; color: windowtext;\">The ArtsWalk Mural Project was initiated to make art more accessible to the general public and to enhance downtown Allentown for residents and visitors. We think that it will be one of the strongest presentations of public art in downtown Allentown and will be the beginning of some great public-private partnerships in the commissioning of art in our community. It is being installed in sections of nonwoven polyester sheets that were painted on in Amber Art\u2019s studio and then transported to Allentown and adhered to the wall.
