Allentown, PA — The 70th Annual Holiday Tea, the Allentown Art Museum Auxiliary\u2019s gift to the Lehigh Valley community, will begin at 1 p.m.<\/span> Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016<\/span>, with entertainment provided by pianist Robert Richelderfer and flautist Mona Turner, who will accompany Richelderfer on several pieces.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are proud to continue this wonderful tradition that began on Dec. 11, 1946 at the Art Museum\u2019s original home in the Stone House in the Rose Garden,\u201d said Auxiliary President Anne Hohe. \u201cThis really is our gift to the community and we have so many great members from throughout Lehigh County and the entire Lehigh Valley who have supported us over the years.\u201d<\/p>\n The Auxiliary\u2019s rich history also dates to 1946, when it was founded and one of its first leader was Anna Rodale, wife of publisher Jerome I. Rodale. From 1946 to 1964 it was the only volunteer organization for the museum and over the years it has helped raise fund for purchases such as the piano Richelderfer will play.<\/p>\n The event is free to the public and includes light refreshments.
