(Lehigh County, PA) Glenn Eckhart, Lehigh County Controller and Republican candidate for Lehigh County Executive makes good on his promises to the taxpayers of Lehigh County. In the heat of a campaign, politicians tend to make one empty promise after another, Eckhart observes. Eckhart believes it is a good thing he is not a politician; but instead represents a rare breed of true public servants. \u201cTalk is cheap, but I am proud to say that I have followed through on three very important promises that I made to the people of Lehigh County.\u201d Said Eckhart<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2011 while campaigning for County Controller Glenn says he made a promise not to take a pay raise, not to take a pension, and to present a plan to cut 5 million dollars in spending. Glenn Eckhart followed through on his promises. \u201cI am about more action, and less rhetoric. That is why I am running for Lehigh County Executive. Because people deserve a decisive leader who follows through on his promises.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

When it was within his legal right to do so, Glenn refused a pay raise and refused to take part in the Lehigh County pension system. \u201cI think it is important to be honest with people. I don\u2019t expect everyone to agree with me all the time, but when I say I am going to do something, I am going to do it.\u201d Eckhart when on to describe what he believes separates himself from the rest of the field. \u201cOver the course of the next few weeks, a lot of things will be said about what politicians are going to do for you. Here\u2019s what I have already done; I have said NO to a pay increase, NO to taking part in the pension system, and said YES to the taxpayer by presenting plans to cut 5 million dollars in spending, many of my suggestions becoming law. What I say I am going to do, I am going to do. It is just that simple. I am going to be the advocate for the taxpayer. \u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Glenn resides in Salisbury Township, and has a daughter named Maggie. Glenn is an active member of Jerusalem Evangelical Church of Eastern Salisbury. Glenn is running in the Republican primary for Lehigh County Executive that will take place on May 16<\/span>th<\/span><\/sup>. <\/span><\/p>\n
