Allentown St. Patrick\u2019s Parade Fundraising Event Kicks Off Parade Activities<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fundraising event celebrating 13 years, to be held February 15, 2015<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

2015 King and Queen Greg and Roey Ebert to be introduced<\/strong><\/p>\n

2015 Poster Contest Winners to be recognized<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"KingFebruary 3, 2015<\/span> (Allentown, PA) The Allentown St. Patrick\u2019s Parade Committee, Inc. announced today the details regarding the 13th<\/sup> Annual Fundraising Event to be held at Christopher\u2019s at the Knights of Columbus on Sunday, February 15, 2015 from 3 pm to 6 pm<\/span>.\u00a0 The Allentown St. Patrick\u2019s Parade will be held March 22, 2015 throughout Allentown\u2019s West End.\u00a0 Christopher\u2019s at the Knights of Columbus is located at 1519 Greenleaf Street, Allentown, PA.\u00a0 Proceeds will benefit the Allentown St. Patrick\u2019s Parade.<\/p>\n

The 13th Annual Parade Fundraising event will feature the formal introduction of the 2015 King and Queen of the Allentown St. Patrick\u2019s Parade, Greg and Roey Ebert.\u00a0 The 2015 Poster Contest winners will also be recognized.\u00a0 Winners in this year\u2019s contest are as follows:<\/p>\n

First Place \u2013 Brianna Friend:\u00a0 8th<\/sup> Grade at St. Ann\u2019s Emmaus 2nd Place \u2013 David Fleck: 6th<\/sup> Grade at St. Ann\u2019s Emmaus 3rd Place –\u00a0 Cayla Zenie: 5th<\/sup> Grade at St. John Vianney Regional School<\/p>\n

Honorable Mention \u2013 Sarah Demchak: 5th<\/sup> Grade at St. Ann\u2019s Emmaus Honorable Mention \u2013 Patrick Donohue: 6th<\/sup> Grade at St. Ann\u2019s Emmaus<\/p>\n

Honorable Mention \u2013 Talia Zurinskas: 3rd<\/sup> Grade at St. Joseph the Worker School<\/p>\n

Christopher\u2019s at the Knights of Columbus will host the fundraising event from 3 pm to 6 pm on Sunday, February 15, 2015<\/span>.\u00a0 Doors are open to the public and tickets are $10 per person in advance and $12 at the door.\u00a0 Children under 12 are free.\u00a0 Tickets include selected beers and soda with admission and door prizes.\u00a0 Tickets can be purchased in advance by going to www.allentownstpatricksdayparade.com<\/a>, calling 610.443.0429<\/a>, or emailing stpatstickets@aol.com<\/a>.\u00a0 Tickets will also be available at the door.\u00a0 Music by DJ John Harvey, raffles and the purchase of shamrocks for a $1 will also be a part of the event\u2019s activities.\u00a0 All guests are asked to bring a nonperishable food item to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of the Lehigh Valley.<\/p>\n

The Fundraising event is the kick off for all the 2015 Parade festivities, with the next event following on March 14<\/span>, the annual West End Pub Crawl featuring nine sponsoring pubs, followed by the Coronation of the 2015 King and Queen, Greg and Roey Ebert on March 20<\/span> and the Irish Cultural Community Day being held March 21<\/span> at Ag Hall.<\/p>\n

About the Allentown St. Patrick\u2019s Parade<\/strong><\/p>\n

The first known St. Patrick\u2019s Parade was held in Allentown in the late 1860\u2019s.\u00a0 Over a century later, in 1955, what we know as the modern day Allentown St. Patrick\u2019s Parade was organized by business and political leaders through the St. Patrick\u2019s Day Observance Society.\u00a0 The Parade ran from 12th<\/sup> and Hamilton Streets to the Immaculate Conception Church on Ridge Avenue.\u00a0 The Parade will celebrate its 58th<\/sup> Anniversary on March 22, 2015<\/span> departing from the Allentown Fairgrounds at 1:30 pm<\/span>.\u00a0 For more information or to participate in the 2015 Allentown St. Patrick\u2019s Parade go to www.allentownstpatricksdayparade.com<\/a>.\u00a0 Registration to participate in the 2015 Parade is open and can be done by completing the online registration form at www.allentownstpatricksdayparade.com<\/a> through February 15, 2015<\/span>.\u00a0 The Allentown St. Patrick\u2019s Parade reserves the right to approve all registration submissions.<\/p>\n
