TREXLERTOWN, Pa. \u2013 The UCI Festival of Speed was pushed back one day thanks to Tropical Storm Cindy, but it was well worth the wait as the men\u2019s flying 200m track record was broken three times in the afternoon session before Jair Tjon En Fa and Mandy Marquardt proved triumphant in the men\u2019s and women\u2019s sprint tournament in the evening session on Saturday night at the Valley Preferred Cycling Center.<\/p>\n
Coming into the day Hugo Barrette of Canada owned the flying 200m men\u2019s track record with a time of 10.208, but then Stefan Ritter of Canada broke it with a time of 10.179. Then Harrie Lavreyesen of the Netherlands bested that time, but on the very next heat, Eddie Dawkins of New Zealand bested Lavreyesen\u2019s time with the new track record of 10.141.<\/p>\n
For the women, Kate O\u2019Brien of Canada bested her track record in the women\u2019s flying 200m of 11.239 with a new record of 11.235.<\/p>\n
For the men, there was an International Omnium for UCI and for the women there were two races, an elimination and a scratch race, that were for UCI point as well.<\/p>\n
Jessica Escapite of Mexico, who just arrived in T-Town this week, swept both the elimination and scratch races to collect the valuable UCI points.<\/p>\n
After it was all tabulated in the UCI International Omnium for the men, it was Tom Rotherham of Great Britain, who collected the most points.<\/p>\n
There were also two events for the juniors, which were swept Nathan Roberts of T-Town Elite.<\/p>\n

On USA Weekend in T-Town, the final two UCI nights of the season wrap up the month of June and welcome the month of July. The UCI Keirin Cup XXXI is set for June 30 with the UCI Madison Cup XLI on July 1. Action starts at 7:30 p.m. on both nights.<\/p>\n On both nights, in honor of USA Weekend, all veterans, active military personnel, and active first responders receive free admission with identification. Also, fans can purchase limited edition T-Town camouflage hats and shirts with a portion of the proceeds going to the Lehigh Valley Military Affairs Council.
