\"\"<\/a>Bethlehem, Penn., June 22, 2017– The Third Mask Theatre Company will present Chicago: The Musical<\/em> for its 2017 summer season. The creative team was thrilled to obtain the rights to the show, which is currently running on Broadway and enjoying a national tour.<\/p>\n

CHICAGO<\/em>\u2019s sharp wit, alluring score, and masterful story-telling have titled it one of the most iconic and notorious pieces of musical theatre. With Bob Fosse\u2019s renowned staging and John Kander\u2019s music, CHICAGO<\/em> demands tremendous talent from its company.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe cast is truly tackling this score and choreography as the writers intended, at high caliber,\u201d says Nick Conti, Artistic Director. \u201cUnder the ritzy music and staging is a deeper and darker analysis of society. CHICAGO<\/em> explores the way our culture creates superstars out of morally bankrupt characters like Velma, Roxie and the corrupt lawyer Billy Flynn. This is truly a hilarious, upbeat, and cynical vaudeville experience!\u201d<\/p>\n

Third Mask Theatre Company seeks to bring a fresh theatre experience to the Lehigh Valley. Founded by Freedom High School graduates, Third Mask has grown to include actors and directors from Allentown, Emmaus, Jim Thorpe, and more. Several actors have received Freddy nominations and awards in high school, and many major in theatre, dance, or music in college. Since\u00a02011, Third Mask has presented several annual\u00a0full-scale productions, most recently, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0The Addams Family Musical<\/em>.<\/p>\n
