Players on the City of Allentown\u2019s Lehigh Parkway Disc Golf Course are enjoying new concrete tee pads.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The City\u2019s Department of Parks & Recreation recently completed the installation of concrete tee pads on all 18 holes of the popular and beautiful course. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The department held several meetings with members of the Lehigh Valley Disc Golf Club who recommended some updates and changes to better accommodate the many disc golfers who regularly play the course.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Lehigh Parkway Disc Golf Course is in a flood plain, prompting the decision to install concrete tee pads to allow for better traction and to minimize injuries.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>concrete pads are the first of several planned steps to upgrade the course.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Four of the tee pads were moved to a better location at the same distance from the hole.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>New signage will be installed near the end of the summer along with a master map of the course at the Robin Hood Parking area. Some of the holes will be re-numbered to allow for better course flow to start and end at the Robin Hood parking lot.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Lehigh Parkway <\/span>amenities include trails, bridle path, disc golf, fishing, and restrooms.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>It is home to the Little Lehigh Fish Hatchery, Museum of Indian Culture, Little Lehigh Fly Shop, Hunter’s Cabin, Police Academy, Lehigh Valley Road Runners Club House, Maintenance Shed, Log Cabin, Bogert’s Bridge, Schreiber’s Bridge, Robin Hood Bridge, Klein’s Bridge, Fireman’s Bridge, Rathburn Bridge and Keck’s Bridge.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Lehigh Parkway is home to many 5K walk\/runs and has more than six miles of trails to explore.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
