The Parade will be held <span data-term=\"goog_390528454\">March 22, 2015<\/span>, departing from the Allentown Fairgrounds at <span data-term=\"goog_390528455\">1:30 pm<\/span>.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Food Drive to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of the Lehigh Valley<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The Parade is hosting a food drive to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of the Lehigh Valley.\u00a0 The Parade is partnering with several local businesses and the Minsi Trails Council to help collect food the day of the Parade.\u00a0 The Cub Scouts will be walking in the Parade collecting donations from spectators.\u00a0 The Food Donations will also be taken at the Coronation Celebration, the Irish Cultural Community Day being held <span data-term=\"goog_390528456\">March 20 and 21<\/span> respectively at Allentown Fairgrounds.\u00a0 <span data-term=\"goog_390528457\">Saturday, March 14<\/span> Parade volunteers will be distributing food drive bags throughout the West End of Allentown.\u00a0\u00a0 The Parade is asking all spectators of the parade to bring a nonperishable food item to donate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4><strong>Parade Pub Crawl \u2013 <span data-term=\"goog_390528458\">March 14, 2015<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The Parade Pub Crawl, initiated in 2008, will take place on <span data-term=\"goog_390528459\">Saturday, March 14, 2015<\/span> throughout the West End of Allentown.\u00a0 Proceeds for the Pub Crawl benefit the Allentown St. Patrick\u2019s Parade to pay for marching units and bands.\u00a0 There are nine sponsoring pubs; Jack Callaghan\u2019s Ale House, Tavern on Liberty Street, Ringer\u2019s Roost, Stooge\u2019s Bar &amp; Grille, Volpe\u2019s, Shanty on 19<sup>th<\/sup>, Roosevelt\u2019s 21<sup>st<\/sup>, Fairgrounds Hotel, and Greg\u2019s West End Saloon.<\/p>\n<p>Registration is held at each sponsoring pub and starts at <span data-term=\"goog_390528460\">5:30 pm<\/span>.\u00a0 The pub crawl begins promptly at <span data-term=\"goog_390528461\">6:30 pm<\/span>.\u00a0 Registration is $15 per person and includes an official Parade t-shirt.<\/p>\n<h4>Best Legs in a Kilt Contest presented by Jack Callaghan\u2019s Ale House<\/h4>\n<p>Jack Callaghan\u2019s Ale House is presenting the Best Legs in a Kilt Contest to be held <span data-term=\"goog_390528462\">March 14, 2015<\/span> prior to the start of the 2015 Allentown St. Patrick\u2019s Parade Pub crawl.\u00a0 Registration is free and can be completed at Callaghan\u2019s up until <span data-term=\"goog_390528463\">5:00 pm March 14, 2015<\/span>.\u00a0 There will be prizes awarded for the winner of the men\u2019s and women\u2019s division.<\/p>\n<p>The Contest is being hosted by Daniel A. The flag raising event is to commemorate the contributions of those of Irish heritage who helped to form and grow Allentown and the greater Allentown area.\u00a0 A pipe salute and brief remarks by John A. Prizes awarded.\u00a0 Registration can be made online at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.westendstpats5k.com\/\">www.westendstpats5k.com<\/a>.\u00a0 Proceeds benefit the West End Alliance.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>House Decorating\/Porch Party Contest \u2013 <span data-term=\"goog_390528485\">March 22, 2015<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The 2015 Allentown St. Patrick\u2019s Parade Committee designed a house decorating\/porch party contest to be judge by an independent person chosen by the Parade committee.\u00a0 Prizes will be awarded to the \u201cbest porch party\u201d and \u201cbest decorated house\u201d along the Parade route.\u00a0 The Parade route will form at the Fairgrounds track near the Liberty and 17<sup>th<\/sup> Streets gate ( Main Gate vicinity) The Parade will proceed West on Liberty, turn North on 19<sup>th<\/sup> Street, Wets on Tilghman to 25<sup>th<\/sup> Street, South on 25<sup>th<\/sup> Street to Liberty Street then East on Liberty Street and disband a the Fairgrounds 19<sup>th<\/sup> Street gate.\u00a0 All homes along the Parade route are encouraged to participate.\u00a0 Prizes will be awarded immediately upon conclusion of the Parade.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Massed Bands Exhibition \u2013 <span data-term=\"goog_390528486\">March 22, 2015<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Massed Bands exhibition will take place immediately before the Parade at <span data-term=\"goog_390528487\">1:00 PM<\/span> on North 19<sup>th<\/sup> Street between Tilghman and Liberty Streets.\u00a0 All 10 pipe bands will perform in unison under the direction of Drum Major Jason Litz.\u00a0 After the Parade the pipe bands will proceed to a Pub Crawl Sponsoring pub to perform additional tunes.<\/p>\n<p>The Allentown St. Patrick\u2019s Parade committee was sad to learn of the tragic loss of two young members the Washington Memorial Pipe Band, one of our longest participating bands. Charlotte and Miles Hannagan of Downingtown, PA, lost their lives in a tragic auto accident on February 14, 2015. Charlotte and Miles were both drummers for Washington Memorial, joining their father Paul who is a Piper with the band. Charlotte and Miles are survived by their parents Paul and Maggie. The parade committee would like to extend our prayers and condolences to the Hannagan family as well as the members of the Washington Memorial Pipe Band who perform with heavy hearts.<\/p>\n<p>In a tribute to Charlotte and Miles this year\u2019s Massed Pipes and Drums exhibition is being performed in remem\u00adbrance of them. Massed Pipes and Drums will pay tribute to the greatness of their lives and embrace their memories in the activity that they shared as a family.<\/p>\n<p>The program will be as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The massed pipes and drums will enter 19th street from the intersection with Allen Street.<\/li>\n<li>The first wave will countermarch and halt at the return to intersection of Allen Street.<\/li>\n<li>The second wave will then march down, countermarch and return to intersection of Allen Street.<\/li>\n<li>At this time Senior Drum Major Jason Litz will salute the Washington Memorial Pipe Band to grant them permission to proceed.<\/li>\n<li>The Washington Memorial Pipe Band will play two tunes in remembrance to Miles and Charlotte as they circle up in the center of the Allen Street intersection.<\/li>\n<li>After the band has completed their set, Parade Chaplain Fr. Joseph Kweder will say a few words and offer prayers for Miles and Charlotte, the Hannagan family, as well as the members of the Washington Memorial Pipe Band.<\/li>\n<li>At the conclusion of prayer Pipe Majors Colin Drummond and Ken Sutherland will lead the Amazing Grace.<\/li>\n<li>As the rest the other pipe bands join in on the 2nd verse, the other bands\u2019 drum corps will remain silent in honor of Miles and Charlotte. A single draped snare, customary in pipe band funerals\/remembrance, will be played by a Washington Memorial member.<\/li>\n<li>On the last verse all pipers will cut out and Pipe Major Colin Drummond of Washington will complete the Amazing Grace as a lone piper.<\/li>\n<li>The Washington Memorial Pipe Band will fall back into ranks and the exhibition will continue as usual.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>58<sup>th<\/sup> Allentown St. Patrick\u2019s Parade \u2013 <span data-term=\"goog_390528488\">March 22, 2015<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The 2015 Allentown St. Patrick\u2019s Parade, now in its 58<sup>th<\/sup> year, will start its March at <span data-term=\"goog_390528489\">1:30 pm on Sunday, March 22, 2015<\/span>.\u00a0 The Parade route will form at the Fairgrounds track near the Liberty and 19<sup>th<\/sup> Streets gate (Main Gate vicinity).\u00a0 The Parade will proceed West on Liberty, turn North on 19<sup>th<\/sup> Street, West on Tilghman Street o t 25<sup>th<\/sup> Street, South on 25<sup>th<\/sup> Street to Liberty Street, then East on Liberty Street and disband at the Fairgrounds 19<sup>th<\/sup> Street gate.\u00a0 The Parade will include the 2015 King and Queen riding in a white coach drawn by a team of Belgium horses followed by eight Parade divisions each led by a pipe band.\u00a0 The Parade has 6 pipe bands and 16 floats featured and is the largest assembled.\u00a0\u00a0 The 2015 pipe bands featured are as follows:<\/p>\n<p>City of Bethlehem Bagpipe Band<\/p>\n<p>Irish Thunder Pipe &amp;
