The new facility is accessible to more families in a building designed specifically to nurture hands-on and inquisitive learning.

The Grand Opening, hosted by the Southern Lehigh Chamber of Commerce, will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug 24 at 4777 Saucon Creek Rd. in Center Valley. The event will feature an official ribbon cutting ceremony, speeches from Red Door staff, and door prizes. Food and drink will be provided as you tour the new state of the art learning center.

Founded in 1964 at the Lower Saucon United Church of Christ in Hellertown, it’s home for more than a half-century, Red Door’s independent move to the larger Center Valley location improves access for additional children and families in a building designed for early childhood education.

“The new location gives us so many more advantages,” said Director of Education Kristen Buckno. “Not only do we get a better, more convenient location that allows us to expand our enrollment to meet the growing demand, but the building allowed us to design the space for our programs rather than trying to fit our programs into the existing space.

“As soon as we secured the property, we brought our leadership, teachers, program developers and donors together with the design and construction teams to create a space in the community that supports our vision.” Buckno added.

The goal, Buckno states on the Red Door website, was to create a learning environment that combined a visually open, fresh and vibrant atmosphere that combined peace and calm with bright natural light. The new facility features easy access to the outdoors, classrooms for specialized activities such as science labs, an art studio, greenhouse and a library. Areas are included within the classrooms for children to get cozy with books and friends, an indoor space for gross motor activities, a kid-kitchen, and plenty of bathrooms. A natural outside play space gives kids the chance to design his/her play.

The Red Door Early Learning Center has built its 53 years of success on several factors, including:

— An experienced, certified and professional teaching staff;

— An intentionally designed curriculum;

— Developmentally appropriate lessons designed to help children achieve consistent advancement;

— An emphasis on resiliency and problem-solving that allows youngsters to succeed in kindergarten and beyond.

— A curriculum focused on the individual child’s intellectual, emotional-social and physical development.

To learn more about the Red Door Early Learning Center, reach their professional staff or register a child for their program, please go to reddoorelc.org or call 484-264-2916.

Information Written By:
Anthony Morales
Red Door Early Learning Center, Inc.
4777 Saucon Creek Rd.
Center Valley, PA 18034

… Click here to read more...
"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[69,482

post-41287","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-in-the-valley","category-press-release-2
