{"id":4457,"date":"2015-04-06T19:09:23","date_gmt":"2015-04-07T00:09:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/wordpress\/?p=4457"},"modified":"2015-04-06T19:11:08","modified_gmt":"2015-04-07T00:11:08","slug":"yard-waste-site-now-open-for-the-regular-season","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=4457","title":{"rendered":"YARD WASTE SITE NOW OPEN FOR THE REGULAR SEASON"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Curbside Yard Waste Collection Begins<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Electronics Recycling Being Offered<\/h3>\n<p>The <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">City of Allentown yard waste site<\/span> at 1401 Oxford Dr. (Oxford Drive and Fish Hatchery Road) is now open for the season for Allentown residents.\u00a0 It will be open on Saturdays from 8am to 3pm, Mondays, 12pm to 4pm, Wednesdays, 8am to 6:30pm and Fridays, 12pm to 4pm.\u00a0 Residents are required to show identification.<\/p>\n<p>The city will offer mulch loading services every Wednesday during the season from 8am to 12pm.\u00a0 Loading services will be available for a pre-paid fee of $12 per bucket load.\u00a0 There is no cost for self-loading of material.\u00a0 Payment must be made at the Recycling &amp; Solid Waste Office, 1400 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. prior to loading.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Curbside yard waste collection begins this week.<\/span>\u00a0 Residents should place yard waste out on their recycling night.\u00a0 Paper lawn and leaf bags are no longer required for grass clippings.\u00a0 The paper lawn bags have caused contamination issues.\u00a0 Residents are encouraged to place all yard waste in a container (separate can from your trash).\u00a0\u00a0Please do not mix any trash or any other debris in with the yard waste.\u00a0 Yellow yard waste stickers are available for your cans.<\/p>\n<p>The city is also accepting <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">electronics for recycling<\/span> on the first and third Saturday of each month from April through November from 9am to 12pm.\u00a0\u00a0 The next electronics event is Saturday, April 18.\u00a0 It is also for city of Allentown residents only.<\/p>\n<p>The city will accept computers, keyboards, monitors, electronics, printers, scanners, laptops and televisions for recycling.\u00a0 Users bringing electronics will have the convenience of drive-through service.\u00a0 There is a limit of two televisions or one big screen projector television per vehicle per day.<\/p>\n<p>For more information, call the Bureau of Recycling &amp;
