Frederick Group, Lehigh Valley Business Brokers Partner To Offer Start-Up, Financing Advice\u00a0\u00a0 <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Allentown, Pa<\/em>. \u2013 Lehigh Financial Group is partnering with The Frederick Group, Lehigh Valley Business Brokers and the U.S. Small Business Administration to present a seminar created to help veterans learn about self-employment and small business options in the greater Lehigh Valley Region.<\/p>\n

The \u201cSmall Business For Veterans\u201d<\/em> is a one-day event that will be held from 9 to 11 a.m.<\/span> on April 25<\/span> at 3500 Winchester Rd., Suite 201 in South Whitehall Township and will feature seminars on \u201cCommercial Real Estate,\u201d \u201cFranchises and Business Acquisitions\u201d and \u201cBusiness Expansions,\u201d said Jeff Barber of Lehigh Financial Group.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe expanding economy has created a lot of opportunity out there for entrepreneurs and small business owners, but we haven\u2019t seen much that is specifically directed to our veterans,\u201d Barber said. \u201cThis is a great group of people who most often come out of active duty with exactly the skills and training that will help them become successful in their own businesses.\u201d<\/p>\n

Barber said presentations will be conducted by representatives from the sponsoring businesses but there will also be representative from the Small Business Administration in attendance to participate in the seminars and answer questions from veterans.<\/p>\n

According to the Small Business Administration, American veterans own 2.5 million businesses, accounting for 9 percent of all businesses nationwide, and employ more than 5.7 million people. Veterans are 45 percent more likely to be self-employed than people with no military experience.<\/p>\n

This year, the Obama Administration gave the Small Business Administration’s “Boots to Business” entrepreneur program $7 million to expand.<\/p>\n
