Society of the Arts October 6<\/span><\/span> Luncheon Where<\/strong>: Brookside Country Club Imagine having the author actually attend your next book club meeting so you can ask the questions and learn more about what inspired the story that captured your imagination!<\/p>\n Society of the Arts (SOTA<\/a>) 2017 Luncheon With the Authors<\/a> is where you will want to be on October 6th<\/span><\/span> when three nationally-acclaimed authors from the New York metro area will be in the Lehigh Valley to share stories and answer questions during a panel discussion hosted by Ashley Russo<\/a>, two-time Emmy\u00ae award-winning executive producer and host of The PEAK TV.\u00a0 This year\u2019s luncheon will be held at Brookside Country Club<\/a> in Macungie.<\/p>\n Bethlehem-based author Karen Katchur<\/a>\u2019s mystery, The Sisters of Blue Mountain<\/a>,<\/em> takes place in Pennsylvania\u2019s Pocono Mountains. For Linnett, the main character and owner of a bed and breakfast, a disruption to the peace and quiet of the beautiful area threatens her business, creates a media frenzy, and begins to unearth family secrets that, long buried, resurge between Linnett and her estranged sister.<\/p>\n Hala Alyan\u2019s Salt Houses<\/em><\/a> explores the everyday life of an educated Palestinian family against a backdrop of politics\u2014sometimes forgotten, sometimes impossible to forget. We travel with Alia and four generations of her family, uprooted by conflict in the Middle East, as they scatter to Lebanon, Paris, and Boston to determine where and what home is.<\/p>\n Elisabeth Egan<\/a>, in A Window Opens<\/a><\/em>, introduces us to Alice Pearse, a bright, compulsively honest, utterly charming, longing-to-have-it-all heroine for our modern times. When her husband makes a radical career and identity shift, Alice seeks a full-time position\u2014even a dream job\u2014that will enable her to bring the joy of reading to others.<\/p>\n Luncheon With the Authors<\/a> is the annual fundraiser sponsored by the Society of the Arts (SOTA<\/a>) of the Allentown Art Museum<\/a>.\u00a0 Admission ranges from $75 to $300 and can be purchased at sotapa.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n SOTA\u2019s fundraising benefits educational programs at the\u00a0Allentown Art Museum<\/a>, the SOTA Print Fund and the SOTA Education Endowment.<\/p>\n All three books are on sale at the\u00a0Moravian Book Shop<\/a> in Bethlehem.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n
