Liberty Bell Museum Launches Series on Immigration in the Lehigh Valley<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n The internationally-recognized Rev. Moos will speak about the work the U.C.C. is doing with refugees and displaced persons as well as current immigration issues facing our nation during the 10:30 a.m.<\/span> \u201cWorld Communion\u201d Sunday<\/span> worship at Zion\u2019s \u2018Liberty Bell\u2019 United Church of Christ, 620 W. Hamilton Street, Allentown.<\/p>\n Then at 4:00 p.m.<\/span>, Rev. Moos will give a presentation at the Liberty Bell Museum located in the lower level of Zion\u2019s church. His talk will focus on the Middle East and the Syrian crisis and the Syrian refugee population in the Lehigh Valley.<\/p>\n The public is invited to both events. A free-will offering is received during the church service; there is no charge for the museum event.<\/p>\n The Liberty Bell Museum series will focus on historical waves of immigration to the Lehigh Valley, including German, Jewish, Syrian and Latino families.\u00a0 The series, which runs through mid-June 2018, will include speakers focusing on each of the cultural groups that have made the Lehigh Valley their home.<\/p>\n The Rev. James Moos is co-executive of Global Ministries, a joint endeavor between the United Church of Christ and the Disciples of Christ denominations. Rev. Moos\u00a0was ordained in 1986 and became involved with the U.C.C. on national levels and Global Ministries, serving as a volunteer in East Timor in 2002. During a six-year stint on the U.C.C. Executive Council he served as its chair for two years. Rev. Moos enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1976, was on active duty until 1980, and served as a reserve chaplain for the Air Force for 18 years.\u00a0 Rev.
